BREAKING NEWS – This is how Gallerima is going to disrupt the online art market

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronni Agnig.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

It all started when I was at university, and I had a friend who was a talented artist, but she just couldn’t seem to figure out the business side of being an artist. She was not famous enough for large galleries, and those willing to accept her work charged up to 50% commission. In online galleries, she would either have to pay a fixed fee or pay super high commissions to be one of the hundreds of thousands of artists trying to get their work noticed. So I started thinking, surely there must be a better way to do this? I called my brother and our friend, who’s a web developer, and I told them about my friend’s situation and that there is an opportunity for us to disrupt the online art market by simply creating a more level playing field for artists. After months of back and forth we agreed upon the service we wanted to offer, an online marketplace where artists pay 0% commission if they sell their work through their own personal link, they will make 15% commission on sales of other artists work if it comes from their link and where we only charge a 25% commission if we are the ones that generate the sales, and of course, we refused to charge any fees or costs to use the platform

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Oh, definitely not! My brother and I did not exactly grow up wealthy. We always had to move around because we could not afford to get a stable home as we never could afford the rent increases. When we were building and launching Gallerima, we stayed in a studio flat with our family of 5. It was not the easiest place to focus on work and university studies at the same time, but we managed through it all because of our passion for art and creating something that will generate value and wealth to artists, which will allow them to focus on creating their works. We are children of refugees, we never had any money or any connections to people with money, so we funded Gallerima with my student loans and my salary as a delivery driver. We knew we were fighting an uphill battle, but we also knew that our sacrifices and dedication to Gallerima would create something bigger than us, a platform where artists are empowered and art is appreciated in the way it deserves.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Gallerima is not just mass-produced posters or other generic artworks. It is art that tells a story. We believe that every artist and artwork carries a deep story that collectors deserve to connect with. That is why we work tirelessly with the artists in our community to help them tell their story. We have artists from over 50 countries, from all different ages and backgrounds, and with this diverse group of artists, there are so many unique stories to explore, no matter if it is through the short films that we create or articles that we write about our artists. When you explore the original pieces on Gallerima, you will connect with artwork more than just the aesthetics. You will connect with the stories and the artists that are the minds behind the works. Furthermore, we want everyone to feel safe when selling and buying art on Gallerima, that is why we have developed our own escrow system. When you purchase a work on Gallerima.com you will pay the money to an independent account and the money will be held here until you have received your painting and have had it for 14 days, if you have no regrets the money will be released to the artist on the 15th day, however, if you for any reason do not want the artwork anymore within the first 14 days you will be able to return the painting for free and you will get your money back once the artist has received

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

It is not about being passionate. It is about being obsessed. If you do not have an obsession with becoming the best in the world at what you do, you will never survive if you don’t have that obsession. Passion will only take you so far. Secondly, once you have found something you are obsessed with, you only need to focus on one thing: creating value for those using your service or product. If you just sell stuff that people don’t really need, you’ll make some money in the short run, but to create something that lasts, you need to create value to create loyalty to your brand.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Personally, I measure success with how many I can help, not how much money I make. With Gallerima, we have created a platform that is giving back economic power to artists, and we are helping them sell their art so they can focus on the creation of art. The knowledge of us contributing to that is something that I am incredibly proud of and will always cherish

What’s next for you?

Gallerima is just getting started. We will add many more features and continue to grow. We know that we offer the best terms in the world to artists, so now we just need to make sure that the world’s artists know about this. Our goal is to become the biggest and best platform for art online within 5 years, and we will work relentlessly with our artist community to make that happen.
