It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My grandfather Mr. Billy played a major role in my success. Growing up he taught me to always be myself, and to never change for nobody. Those words stuck to me still until this day, and is one of the main reasons why I have reached the level I’ve reached in this game of life. Real will always recognize real even in a field of imitators!

He believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself! Him and my Granny gave me unconditional love and allowed me to think freely, but not recklessly! And my Mother was there too cheering me on and teaching me key things like how to be fly and how to survive!

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I was so in my head about how other people viewed me and my work. It took me to finally realize that everyone has their own opinions for a reason and I can’t allow that to dictate whether or not I release my work or not. Self love creates a strong enough support system to hold me up through the dark times that occur as an artist or creative. Believing in my own dream so much has brought me this far and will take me to the distance!

I always say, how do you expect someone else to believe in you if you clearly don’t believe?

I’ve also lost some of my closest friends over the years and just recently I lost my brother Freddie B and cousin Tavion Rice to Gun violence in Dallas, Tx. Growing up in Oak Cliff as a young black male, our biggest fear is getting shot and killed. So for me to have made it to see 30, I’m nothing short of blessed and can only try to use the pain of losing close friends as fuel to my fire!

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I want to start by saying that I am one of the rare breeds on this earth that is truly a jack of all trades aka Renaissance man!

I specialize in songwriting, TV/radio personality, audio engineering, video editing/directing, and I’m also a self proclaimed God MC!

At the current moment, I’m in my filming bag! I direct and edit documentary styled pieces for Erykah Badu on her Live from Badubotron Tour 2021 AD. I am also part owner of Artistic Visual Studios! The same company that assisted her with the Apocalypse Series, live streaming from her desired locations!

Being a jack of all trades has opened doors for me that I wouldn’t have ever imagined! I learned at an early age that if I truly want to be a powerhouse in the industry, I need to know the ins and outs of the game.

So here I am a young OG in the industry that’s still a student! Im the easiest to work with because I’m moldable! I can be put in any setting and won’t feel uncomfortable. I can wear many hats at any given second!

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Success will find you, so be prepared for however it looks because it comes in disguise at a quick instance! Don’t miss the train! But fear not! We think it only comes when we want it to, that isn’t the case. It will come to the most patient and hardest workers! So don’t give up!

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is doing what I love to do everyday and getting paid what I deserve to do it!

Value yourself , and evaluate your craft! Is it worth what you desire pay? If not, then back to the drawing board and let’s figure out how to improve on this craft!

What’s next for you?

I’m working on a few single releases and a potential album release around December 2021. I have a few records with my team Billie Gang that has yet to release. And once I finish the Badu tour in November I will shift focus to my music career soon after.

I’m also an on-air personality at the number one Hiphop station in Dallas, 97.9 the Beat! So I’m looking forward to growing within that company as well! Manifesting a syndicated show one day with my sis Jazzi Black!
