Taking Risks with Mikell Elliott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikell Elliott.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

At the age of 21, as a college dropout, I was living in my hometown Las Vegas where I worked at a place called Logisticare. I quickly climbed the ladder of promotion starting as a CSR making $10 an hour to a Resource Management Specialist then as a Workforce Management Analyst starting off at 50k a year! I resigned from that job after working there for 2.5 years knowing a change needed to occur in my life. After an encounter with God, I decided to attend a non-accredited Bible school in Texas where I would begin a journey of seeking God. This involved giving up financial security and trusting things would work out. Out of the little money I now had, I began to give $100 a month to someone in need. I then realized the principal of sowing and reaping. Month after month, I would receive funds from individuals who felt a desire to be generous from $75 to $6,000! Sowing and reaping really works. During this time to pay for school I worked at the front desk of a hotel and did food deliveries. After 3 years of living there doors began to fling open. I was offered a position as an Event Coordinator for Lifestyle Christianity, built a Turo fleet and began renting out cars and now creating articles to tell peoples stories and add credibility to entrepreneurs just like myself.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The constant challenge of quitting and giving up was always present and still is sometimes to this day. I think the reason we want to quit often times has to do with us not believing in ourselves or that we are called to a higher purpose. The pressures of life are not to harm us but to build and equip us. I believe that if it had not been for me going through all the trouble I went through over these past couple of years, I would not known what it was like to humble myself and rely of God to bring me through.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I work as an event coordinator for a large ministry out in Texas. We put on events about once a month and have had thousands of people from around the world attend. I also have a Turo car fleet in which I rent out vehicles to those in need of transportation. Last but not least, I give people the opportunity to be featured in articles published by US Weekly, Forbes, and more!

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My advice to people who desire to be successful is to never quit but press through all the pressures of life and take RISK! You will never know until you take a risk and give it a shot. Now, don’t just take any risk, take calculated risk. Calculated risk means that you’ve done your due diligence in research, networking and educating yourself on what it is you are looking to endeavor.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me means you never quit on what you are called to do. YOU DONT GIVE UP! Even when it seems that things aren’t working out, just know that if you are doing what you are called to do, eventually it will all come together. It may take a few years but be patient. That is true success to me.

What’s next for you?

In the next few years of my life I desire to begin Airbnb rentals, and start a homeless outreach program that will equip them with resources to get out of the streets and enjoy life all the more with friends, family and God.
